BPS Fiber Preparing Its Network for 2 Gig Internet Service
BPS Fiber is continuing to invest in its fiber network, with system upgrades underway that will enable a future 2 Gig download / 1 Gig upload Internet offering.
Today's Network Is Fast. We're Already Building for Tomorrow.
Internet needs don't stand still—and neither does BPS Fiber.
BPS is currently working on upgrades to our fiber systems that will provide the network capability needed to support a future 2 Gigabit download / 1 Gigabit upload Internet service.
The work is part of our ongoing effort to ensure the BPS network has the capacity to support the next generation of connected homes.
A 2 Gig connection provides up to twice the downstream capacity of today's 1 Gig service, creating even more headroom for households with large numbers of connected devices and demanding applications.
That can include:
- Multiple 4K and higher-resolution video streams
- Large cloud backups and file transfers
- Work-from-home applications
- Online gaming
- Security cameras
- Smart-home devices
- Multiple high-performance computers and devices operating simultaneously
Investing Before the Capacity Is Needed
One of the advantages of owning and operating our local fiber network is that BPS can continue upgrading the electronics that power it as technology advances.
Our goal isn't simply to meet today's Internet demand.
We want the network to be ready for what our customers will need next.
Additional information about availability, pricing and launch timing for the new 2 Gig service will be announced once the network upgrades are complete.
2 Gig isn't available yet—but the BPS Fiber network is getting ready for it.
